Hi, thanks for visiting my site. How'd I get here?
DIRECTOR After nearly 10 years of working as a professional photographer it was in 2011 I started to get into film making. Like many photogs going from stills to motion made the cinematography part an easy transistion but I quickly realized that I was happiest to direct. A few months into 2011 I pulled together a crew to enter a 48 hour film festival in my hometown of Paducah, Ky. Basically an excuss to run around the town lawless with the same guys I made VHS movies with in middle school. Over the past 6 years I've recruited by trial and error a crew that is an extenstion of my vision and pushes me creatively in every department. I feel it is the ablilty as a Director to lead the collabortive efforts of everyone's passions that is most appeling. Seeing a vision come to life exactly how it was thought up is pretty much what I live for. Most recently we entered our own narritive comedy short "Art Sale" into the 2017 festival circuit.
PAST IN PHOTOGRAPHY I've shot as long as I can remember. Starting out with my dad's Canon FTB in early elementary school taking pics around the house. By the time high-school art class rolled around I was able to get serious with b&w film photography and learned printing and processing in the darkroom. I didn't pick my camera back up again until after 4 years of playing college soccer. As a grad student I got back into photography by taking two photo classes which led to being the editor of the college newspaper. That led to full-time job at a daily newspaper which ultimatly led to a decision to leave the paper after 18 months to freelance full-time starting out as the lead AP Photographer based in West Virginia. I quickly gained other outlets to shoot for including being repped by Getty Images. All of this early photojournalism work was amazing training in quick competitve deadlines. I regularly saw my work published in all major newspapers and magazines around the world. The amount of people I photographed, the stories and things I saw will stick with me forever.
PERSONAL I live in Savannah, Ga. with my fiance Mollie and my 2 kids that we co-parent with their mom. I can honeslty say I've spent more time as a Dad than on my career over these past 13 years working for myself. I've enjoyed the ride to here and look forward to the climb.
